Are you ready to be transported?
Immediately before you walk in, the Mondrian beckons you in with gigantic black doors reminiscent of something out of Alice in Wonderland… and the rabbit hole just goes deeper and deeper.
Like a modern fantasy, there are oversized, decorative pieces, a floating staircase and a dreamy playground-like lobby, thanks to Dutch designer Marcel Wanders who designed Mondrian as an homage to Sleeping Beauty’s own surrealistic castle.
Step into the elevator…
The rooms are just as gorgeous with its whimsical, black and white wallpaper. We had a balcony with the most beautiful view of Biscayne Bay and the pool. Bonus: Every room has a kitchenette.

As for activities…
Not only does the Mondrian offer the most festive pool parties (while we were there, we went to a pool party sponsored by Moet!), they also offer water sport rentals, spa, fitness center, a yummy restaurant and free bike rentals for guests.

By the way…
For the pups, I found it really easy to take Fira out. Right outside the lobby, there is a large sitting area surrounded by manicured trees, grassy areas and modern chairs. Perfect to let them out to potty at any time of the day or night, without having to leave hotel grounds.
I love your blogs!! Because of your blog we looked into staying at the Mondrian with our Frenchie! It looks like so much fun and we are ready for a vacation with our fur baby. I am wondering how it was ok that Fira was allowed at the pool, etc? When I called to make the reservation, they let me know that no pets are allowed at any bars or the pool. I was hoping you could tell me how your experience was there with being at the pool with Fira? We were really hoping we could take our frenchie to lounge at the pool and the beach.
Thank you!!
Hi Jena, so glad to hear you enjoy the blog! 🙂 I’ve noticed at all hotels, no dogs are allowed by the pool for safety reasons. It is the same at Mondrian–I had Fira by the pool just for the photos but she didn’t actually hang out there. The beach should be fine!
