DIY: Dog-Friendly Valentines Box of Chocolates

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so we’re making an adorably tasty dog-friendly box of chocolates! Of course we all know chocolate is toxic for dogs, but this version uses healthy ingredients like carob powder and strawberries. Because if anyone deserves a Valentine’s gift, it’s our pups!

What you’ll need:

• 1.5 cup unsweetened plain yogurt
• 1/2 cup pureed strawberries
• 1/4 cup carob powder

Carob Powder

Unlike chocolate, carob is totally safe and actually packed with good stuff like vitamin B2, calcium, and iron.

It gives your pup that rich, chocolate-like flavor—minus the risk. Perfect for homemade treats that feel a little fancy but are 100% dog-friendly.

Plain Yogurt

Plain yogurt is a great addition to homemade dog treats—it’s packed with probiotics, calcium, and protein to support digestion and overall health.

Plus, it adds a creamy texture and a little tangy flavor that dogs love. Just make sure it’s unsweetened and free from artificial additives.

Strawberries

Strawberries are a sweet, vitamin-packed, healthy treat for dogs! They’re loaded with antioxidants, fiber, and vitamin C.

Plus, they add natural sweetness and a pop of color—perfect for Valentine’s.

First, puree your strawberries in a blender. Then add them to a bowl with 1/2 cup of plain yogurt. Mix until you get a pretty pink color!

Next, mix 1/4 cup of carob powder with 1/2 cup of yogurt until you get a chocolate color. You can add more powder, if needed, to get your desired color. 

Just plain yogurt will be our white “chocolates.”

Spoon the mixtures into your silicone molds. I used these heart molds.

Place the silicone molds in the freezer for 3-4 hours. They turned out so adorable and look just like a box of chocolates! Enjoy <3

Ingredients  

• 1.5 cup plain yogurt unsweetened
• ½ cup strawberries pureed
• ¼ cup carob powder

Instructions 

• Puree strawberries in a blender.
• Mix 1/2 cup of yogurt with strawberries for the pink treats.
• Mix 1/2 cup of yogurt with 1/4 cup carob powder for the "chocolate" treats.
• White "chocolate" will be just the yogurt!
• Spoon the mixture into your silicone molds.
• Place in freezer for 3-4 hours.
• Gently remove treats from the molds. Serve to your pup! These will melt so store the rest in the freezer in an airtight container.
