Where to go to find LA’s best shopping – with your pup
If you’re anything like me, you love bringing your pup with you everywhere. Living in LA usually means I’ll be out and about and making sure I can get my Vitamin D most of the day. So that leads me to take Weston and Fira with me almost everywhere – I don’t like to leave them at home by themselves for too long!
The good thing is, there are so many dog-friendly places in Los Angeles. If you’ve been living here a long time or just visiting for a few days, LA makes it super easy to bring your pup along shopping.
I’ve been in Los Angeles for over 15 years, and so I’ve found a lot of favorite spots for dog-friendly shopping in LA. Wherever you need to go in LA, there’s usually something you can find outdoors. Super convenient, right? Running errands has never been easier.
1. The Grove
You guessed it! The Grove is one of my favorite dog-friendly outdoor shopping spots in Los Angeles. It’s also top on the list for tourists to see. Browse the latest fashions at Nordstrom, Topshop, Zara, and more, then hang out on the lawn with your dog right by the fountains.
I also love strolling through the Farmer’s Market, which is another dog-friendly place right at The Grove. It’s been a favorite destination for locals and tourists since 1934. There are tons of restaurants (Monsieur Marcel is my fave) and places to buy fresh produce.
2. Westfield Century City
I love bringing Weston and Fira to Westfield Century City. They have everything. Especially good food like Eataly…. definitely a top favorite. This super dog-friendly outdoor mall in Los Angeles is great for shopping, dining and people-watching. Find Bloomingdale’s, H&M, Oak + Fort, Aritzia, and more.
The design of the place is perfect for bringing your dog shopping and taking pics. There’s even a pet relief area on Level 2, right next to Healthy Spot. Definitely get a cute photo lounging on one of the photogenic chairs. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon with your pup.
3. Platform Culver City
You must go to Platform Culver City! You and your pup will love it. This dog-friendly shopping mall is super clean and features really nice boutiques and pop-ups from local brands. Weston and Fira always have a good time here and there are so many great photo spots. If you love Reformation, there’s one at Platform. Pick up a Blue Bottle Coffee first thing, then when you’re done shopping, grab amazing sushi at Little Fiish.
I love all the creativity in the space. At every corner there’s inspiring decor or street art. The shops are all boutique, and the whole place has a very cool chic vibe. Highly recommended for dog-friendly shopping in LA. Oh — and there’s even a beautiful dog-friendly park here!
4. Row DTLA
The Row is an urban enclave of creative, forward-thinking retailers, restaurants and boutiques — all with a very historic feel. It’s similar to Platform but with more of a DTLA look. You’ll see dogs all around. Think super cool Japanese pottery shops, Korean-owned brands (fashion + market goods) , pop-up shops and adorable food spots. You’ll definitely feel like an LA native! 777 S Alameda St.

5. Melrose Place
Of all the shopping areas in LA, Melrose Place is the most charming and oh so “European,” in my humble opinion. This beautiful, tree-lined street features floral alleyways and chic luxury brands like Chloe, Isabel Marant, Oscar de la Renta, Bottega Veneta, Violet Grey and more.
Take your pup on a beautiful walk exploring all the outdoor dog-friendly shopping spots and Alfred’s Coffee. It all has a very glamorous “LA” feel, if you’re just in town for a few days and are looking for an upscale afternoon. If you’re in the area on a Sunday, there’s a weekly Farmer’s Market from 10am-2pm. Plus, it’s at the heart of LA’s Design District, so it’s great for lovers of Restoration Hardware, Design Within Reach, Serena & Lily, and more. Just make sure your pup doesn’t jump on the furniture!
6. Abbot Kinney Venice
The one spot on this list that’s also close to the beach! You could come for a beach day and then head over to Abbot Kinney with your pup, which is another trendy spot for dog-friendly shopping in LA. There are so many coffee shops! Definitely stop by Intelligentsia for some of LA’s best coffee.
Abbot Kinney has some name-brand stores like Warby Parker, Rag & Bone, and Away, but also cute boutiques like Principessa. Don’t miss it! My fave restaurants in the area with a dog-friendly outdoor patio are Neighbor + Tasting Kitchen or get a pizza to-go from GTA takeout window.
