Dumplings are a delicious staple of Lunar New Year celebrations, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune. And why should our pups miss out on the fun? These dog-friendly dumplings are a festive way to include your pup in the holiday traditions. :) Made with safe, wholesome ingredients, they’re a cute treat your dog will love.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground turkey (or protein of choice)
- 1 carrot
- 1/4 cup parsley
- 30 dumpling wrappers
First, I boil the carrot so it softens up. Stick a fork in it to check when ready – it should easily go in. Then dice up! Chop up some parsley and mix all ingredients together in a bowl. You can also change it up and use these dog-safe vegetables: zucchini, green beans, spinach, sweet potato, pumpkin. Just make sure they’re diced up extra teeny!
Place a small portion into dumpling wrapper and pinch the wrapper down to seal. Or you can fold and create creases. I just got these at the 99 Ranch Market, but you can also make your own wrappers with just flour and water! Here’s a recipe I found on another blog.
Depending on your dumpling size, you can easily get 30-40 dumplings from this recipe.
Boil or steam for 4-5 minutes. Easy and simple – enjoy! Fira’s ready for Lunar in her little red tank (found on Chewy), of course.
Dog-friendly Dumplings
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 carrot boiled, diced
- ¼ cup parsley chopped
- 30 dumpling wrappers
Instructions
- Boil 1 carrot to soften.
- Mix ground turkey, diced carrot, chopped parsley in a large bowl.
- Scoop 1/2 spoonful of mixture into dumpling wrappers. Makes up to 30-40 dumplings.
- Steam or boil dumplings for 4-5 minutes.
