We just got back from NYC and made sure to do a quick trip to the Hamptons while we were on Long Island! We’ve never been before and only had a short time there but we had a beautiful time on this side of the island. Keep reading for our dog-friendly guide. 🙂
Start out your day with some Hampton’s Coffee and a breakfast panino in Southampton! (They have several locations all over the island)
Get back on the road, keep driving east and make sure to stop at The Dog Store (354 Montauk Hwy) for a posh collection of collars, leashes & dog carriers. They also have a popular location in Manhattan and specialize in grooming!
On our leisurely drive, we spotted adorable little farm stands! Most of them have outdoor picnic tables and chairs to sit and enjoy some fresh fruits, veggies, jams and more. (Round Swamp Farm also serves a really nice lunch)
Moby’s: Bright and airy Italian eatery with fresh ingredients and a covered back patio. East Hampton.
Page 63 Main: New American cuisine on historic Main St — get a glass of Rosé and people-watch! This street is filled with cute little stores to visit after you finish lunch, including an old family-owned toy store. Sag Harbor.
Pierre’s: Get your French fix at this relaxed Hampton’s classic! Bridgehampton.
La Fondita: Confession – I cannot go longer than 48 hours without Mexican food. This casual eatery hits the spot and provides outdoor picnic tables! Amagansett.
Shelter Island: Take the South Ferry ($21 round trip with car and takes about 8 minutes each way) to this tiny island for a true escape! We arrived at Ram’s Head Inn (pictured above) and were reminded of carefree childhood summers. Try the Summer Thyme drink, enjoy the view and play some classic games like cornhole and tether ball (I haven’t played tether ball since I was in elementary school so this was my highlight!).
Boutique hotel The Maidstone serves Yappy Hour from 4-6pm Sun-Thurs! Dogs get half off on the Woof Menu (created by celebrated chefs) and so do their humans. Enjoy a drink and some play in their gorgeous outdoors.
Here is a list of dog-friendly beaches in the Hamptons/Fork Island!
